HR leaders were surveyed by SHRM about their perceived impact of older employees leaving the workforce (retirement or other personal reasons). For 2017, 27% of HR leaders feel that it is a problem or crisis.
Many of today’s senior leaders belong to the Generation of Baby Boomers. The term “Baby Boomers” refers to the generation that was born between 1946 and 1964. In 2017, baby boomers will be between 53 and 71 years old. The Population Reference Bureau report, “Aging in the United States,” examines recent trends among adults ages 65 and older (January, 2016).
